Each week, in April, Autism Awareness Month, Just Like You Films’ and Changing Perspectives will email you this free, online awakening experiences that you can share with your family, friends, schools and community groups.
You will receive weekly:
– 2 or 3 short video segments that you can watch anywhere, anytime featuring JLY Films’ stars sharing their stories of life with autism
-2 empathy exercises that you can do at home, with your family, your child’s classroom or workplace
-A few links to recommended books and videos to deepen your understanding this unique circumstance

Meet Austin, Christian and Morgan and their best friends. When you meet someone who is a little different than you, you might be scared or uncomfortable. But, once you learn more about it, you get used to it. Because, then you have knowledge it helps you understand.

No one knows for sure why kids have autism. Scientists and doctors are working hard to figure it out. What we do know is that autism affects the way the brain and body work. For kids who have autism, their senses, thought processes, communications and body movements happen differently. It causes them to experience the world in a very unique way.
Episode 3 – “Autism Can Effect The Way Kids See The World”
Autism effects the way kids take the world in through their senses. Situations that seem very normal to most people can be extremely painful to kids with autism. Specifically, autism can impact kids eyesight.

Episode 4 – “Autism Can Effect The Way Kids Hear”
Autism can also impact kids sense of hearing.
Episode 5 – “Autism Can Effect The Way Kids Smell and Taste”
Autism can also impact kids sense of smell and taste.

Episode 6 – “Autism Can Effect The Way Kids Feel Things”
Autism can also impact kids sense of touch.
Episode 7 – “Kids Living With Autism Cope in Unique Ways”
Kids with Autism have unique ways of dealing with the world.

Kids who have autism process the world differently. Some kids process in pictures, other see only patterns and others memorize facts about certain subjects.
Episode 9 – “Why I am Friends with Someone Who Lives with Autism”
Once you learn about what autism is, you get used to it. Because when you have knowledge, you understand and, it’s easy to accept.
Episode 10 – “How to Be a Good Friend To Kids Living With Autism”
It’s easy to be a good friend to someone living with autism.
