James (Jamie) Copaken is a psychotherapist, working in private practice with children, adults, couples and families. He has presented numerous workshops on topics such as parenting, grief, and dating violence. As one of the few male therapists, he also focuses on issues affecting men and boys – including bullying, anger management, and communication. He has helped people work through a wide range of difficulties, including peer and family conflict, divorce, depression, and anxiety. He has worked for more than 20 years in schools, mental health clinics, and addiction clinics in New York, Philadelphia, Dallas, and has returned to Kansas City, his hometown.
